Chris has made films in several African countries, including Rwanda (Shooting in Rwanda), Zambia (Red Flower), and Malawi (Water is Life), as well as with Indigenous communities in Newfoundland and Labrador (The Beothuk Story). As Associate Professor and Program Director of Film Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, Chris has taught research, writing, and production methodologies at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. In addition to an MFA in film and an MA in English, Chris holds an interdisciplinary PhD in Archaeology, History, and Narrative Theory. Beothuk: How Story Made a People (Almost) Disappear is his first book.
